Movie Story

Ayla is the feature film debut of director Su Turhan from 2009. The theatrical release of the dramatic love movie was on May 6, 2010.

Ayla, who has turned away from her Turkish family, works as a kindergarten teacher and values freedom as a single. When she meets the photographer Ayhan, she throws all her concerns overboard and falls in love with him. After Hatice, the mother of one of her kindergarten children, she is completely frightened, because she wants to get divorced from her husband and thus has attracted the wrath of her strictly Muslim family, Ayla takes the two with him. By accident, however, she has to learn that Ayhan is one of the dreaded brothers of Hatice.
