Biography

Katharina Weithaler is an international actress of Austrian roots with 15 years of experiences in film, TV, radio and theatre in Germany, Turkey, UK, Greece and West Africa. She trained in acting at the Vienna Conservatory of Performing Arts, and later gained her masters in physical theatre at MMU in England. She has worked as a leading stage actress in acclaimed productions of Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew and Klytamnestra, etc, in large state theaters in Germany, Poland, Mongolia, Siberia and at the Young Vic in London. She also stared as Velma in the musical ‘Chicago’ and as Zeitel in ‘Anatevka’, both in large state theaters in Germany. Katharina’s T.V. and film credits include playing Dr. Klein in 8 seconds (starring Fahri Yardim and produced by Till Schweiger), Where the Fire Burns (awarded ‘Best Film’ at the Montreal Film Festival), Sakarya Firat (produced by Osman Sinav), Ciplak Gercek (directed by Ümit Ünal). Katharina’s first documentary, ‘A Journey Back to the Roots’ was awarded Best Documentary at the Antakya Film Festival in Turkey. Her first short film ‘Hummus Connection in Aksary’ was selected and premiered at The Human Rights Film Festival in Istanbul 2015. Katharina is also a voice-over artist. She speaks fluent German, English, Turkish, French and Italian. Katharina is a professional swimmer, she does yoga, kickboxing, belly-dancing, pole-dancing and dervish dance and plays the Tenor Saxophone. Katharina has co- written and is attached to perform the lead in the forthcoming feature film, ‘BarberElla’ produced by Three Coloured Dog Films in London.
