Biography

Jean-Michel Richaud grew up in Paris, and lived and worked in Germany, Spain, Holland and Australia before settling in Los Angeles. He received his masters degree at Sorbonne University and completed studies at Paris’s National Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. While at the Conservatory, he won a scholarship to study at New York’s Columbia University, under the tutelage of director Andrei Serban. His on-camera work includes numerous recurring roles on television, most recently opposite Sharon Stone in Agent X. He co-starred in Bottle Shock opposite Alan Rickman and in What Just Happened opposite Robert DeNiro, among many other credits. In 2015, he shot the lead role in a period gothic thriller shot in Vietnam, The Housemaid. As a voice over artist, Richaud has dubbed over 300 films, including Colin Firth in The King’s Speech, Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook, and Al Pacino in the 25th anniversary reissue of Scarface. His voice talents can be heard in The Revenant, Frozen, The Bourne Identity and dozens of other films. He is a founding member of the award winning theater company The Next Arena, which has produced a string of critically acclaimed plays. In 2014 and 2015, Richaud headlined a sold out international tour of the one man show Vincent by Leonard Nimoy, based on over 800 letters between the Van Gogh brothers, Vincent and Theo. Richaud performed both roles, for which he received a Best Actor nomination at the 2016 Petits Molières, the French Tony awards for small theaters. Leonard Nimoy also received a nomination for the work, for Best Contemporary Author. Vincent toured New York (Symphony Space), Los Angeles (Center for the Art of Performance, UCLA), and Paris (Theatre Cine XIII), among many other cities and venues. Richaud lives in LA with his wife and daughter.
